What does OMES do?

Protecting Flanders, today and tomorrow
The Sigma Plan was established to better protect Flanders against flooding while simultaneously enhancing the valuable nature of the Scheldt. OMES investigates how the ecosystem of the Tidal Scheldt responds to these measures.
Through extensive monitoring, researchers track parameters such as water quality, water quantity, fauna, flora, turbidity, and the morphology of the Scheldt estuary.
