Description
The floc size distribution profiles measured monthly or bi-weekly in the Zeeschelde at 12 stations using a LISST 200x instrument, independently of the tidal phase and spring/neap cycle. more

Since autumn 2017, floc size distribution profiles have been measured additionally to the turbidity profiles. The floc size is measured using an optical laser diffraction instrument, more specifically a Sequoia Laser In Situ Scattering and Transmissometry (LISST) 200x instrument. The LISST 200x instrument measures a floc size distribut ion up to a floc size of 500 µm. This particle size distribution was used to determine a geometric averaged floc size following the method of Sequoia Scientific (cited 2019).
